Prince Harry responds to rumors of marital problems

There have long been rumors that Harry and Meghan are suffering from some trouble in paradise. The two have not been seen together since August, which has further fueled the gossip in recent weeks.

Last Wednesday, Prince Harry took to the stage in New York to chat with Andrew Ross Sorkin, columnist for the New York Times, about the media and his marriage to Meghan Markle. Andrew dropped right in, “I looked you up on Google News and there are people who are constantly fascinated by everything you do. They’re fascinated by the fact that Meghan is now in California, and you’re here,” he said.

Solo events

Andrew had the nerve to ask the question everyone wants the answer to, “There are articles here and there about your solo trips. Why do you do them? Why don’t you do them together?” To that Harry quickly has an answer ready: “Because you invited me, you should have known!” Well, “That’s true….,” Andrew agreed.

Great interest

During the interview, he goes on to discuss all the media attention surrounding the prince. “Is it in some sense a good thing that there is so much interest in you?” he asks curiously. But according to Harry, “It’s definitely not a good thing. Apparently we’ve already bought a house ten, twelve times. Apparently we’ve also been divorced ten, twelve times,” Prince Harry says, laughing. “It’s hard to keep up, but that’s why you just ignore it.”

Pity

The Duke of Sussex, who grew up in the royal spotlight as the son of future King Charles and the late Princess Diana, said he feels nothing but pity for the tabloid press. “Their hopes are just built up and then it doesn’t happen,” he said.

Bright future

Despite all the gossip, the prince is doing his thing nicely. For example, he and Meghan are busy with their charity, The Archewell Foundation, and have only one “main goal”: “to be the best husband and dad I can be.” Awh!

Just last year, the duo made a hefty donation of $250,000 to the charity of Ashley Biden, the daughter of President Joe Biden. Her organization, Women’s Wellness Spa(ce), helps women struggling with traumatic past experiences.

Life in the U.S.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are parents to son Prince Archie (5) and daughter Princess Lilibet (3), whom they are raising in Montecito. Life in the U.S. suits the family well: “I really enjoy living here and raising my children here,” Harry says.

“There are activities I can do with my children here that I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to do in the UK in the future.” Here’s to more wonderful years in the U.S. – together with Meghan!
